Instagram Automation

Elegant Bots allows you to create Instagram Bots to automate conversations between your business and your customers.
Instagram Automations allow a chatbot to manage their Instagram DMs. Instagram Business Account must be connected to a Facebook Page for the Instagram automation to work.
It is a full integration and no other platform was able to implement what we did. For example, our Instagram comment tool has the same power as a Facebook comment. However, you cannot auto like a comment due to Facebook limitations.
Here are the things it can do:
Automatically respond to your user’s messages Automatically respond to comments (Private and public) Automatically respond when your brand is mentioned in a story Automatically respond to story replies.Please follow the steps below to set up.
Create an Instagram Professional (Business) Account
Please start here to create an Instagram Professional Account. For the purposes of this Illustration, I have created my Instagram Professional Account, @elegant_bots.

Create a Facebook Page
Create a Facebook page for your business. For this Illustration, I’m using my Facebook page, Elegant Bots.
Note: This is the same page, you will connect to our Platform so that you can create bots.
Once done creating the Instagram Professional Account and the Facebook page, it’s time to connect them ( @elegant_bots and Elegant Bots ).
Connect Instagram Professional Account to Facebook Page.
Navigate to your Facebook page, in our case, we go to: https://www.facebook.com/app.elegantbots then go to Settings > Instagram
How to connect IG to Elegant Bots
To connect, navigate to Settings > Channels > Instagram.
Just click the button ‘Connect Account” to connect.
That’s it to connect your Instagram Professional Account and your Facebook page. Once connected, you will see like the image below. Almost good to go.
However, the set up is not yet done.
In order to manage Instagram messages via Elegant Bots, IG business accounts will need to enable the connected tools to toggle under message control settings.
Note: You will need to download the Instagram App to configure access to messages, toggle ‘”Allow Access to Messages”.
Please follow the steps like the images below.
After the Instagram configuration, you will need to connect Instagram to Elegant Bots platform from your dashboard. Please go to Settings>Channels>Instagram. Once done, you can start building Instagram flows.
How to build Instagram flows
The process to build flows for all channels is the same. You need to choose Instagram as Message Type.
Important Notes:
• Make sure that your Instagram account is a Business/Professional Account. The API cannot access Instagram non Business accounts.
• Your Instagram Account must be connected to the Facebook Page you connected to your bot on Elegant Bots.
• Group threads (conversation with more than 2 participants) are not supported.
• Instagram Comment tool doesn’t work on Instagram Ads and IGTV.
• Instagram bots can’t get the name and profile image of a private IG user account. The person will be added to your list of subscribers, but with an empty name.
